IS the US actually eliminating ISIS members in Syria? Or is it covering its tracks?
Local sources reported that at 1:30 a.m. Monday, April 17, a helicopter landing operation was carried out by the US Special Forces of the International Coalition in the village of As-Suwayda, in Ghandura town, in Jarabulus countryside, which is under the control of Turkish forces and their militias, northeast of Aleppo.
The operation was carried out by 8 helicopters, where the coalition soldiers surrounded the village completely before they attacked a house on the outskirts of the village. The forces demanded the residents of the house to surrender through loudspeakers, who were likely to be ISIS terrorists, but the demands met with violent resistance and clashes erupted between the two parties.
According to local sources, the operation continued until 3:23 am, and resulted in the death of two members of the “Suqur al-Shamal” faction of the Syrian National Army (SNA), and the wounding of at least four others. The faction denied any connection to ISIS, saying that its members went out to inspect the situation in the village and got caught in crossfire. Indiscriminate bullets caused limited material damage to several homes in the village.
Local sources confirmed that one US helicopter was hit by explosive bullets during the clashes, and three of the coalition troops suffered varying severity injuries.
A man named “Ibrahim Al-Ma’an”, aka “Delham”, was killed. He was released 6 months ago from one of the SDF prisons, and was found dead in Al-Hajar Al-Aswad village after the raid.
Ibrahim Al-Ma’an , aka “Delham”,
Local sources confirmed that the targeted individual is a leader in the “Islamic State” organization named “A’yed Al-Hilal” (Abu Talib Al-Safrani), who had been displaced from the As-Safira area six months ago, and that the raiding forces arrested him after he turned himself in, while the Central Command stated that he is “probably dead”.
The US Central Command statement indicated that the raid targeted a prominent leader of the “Islamic State” organization, responsible for planning the organization’s terror attacks in the Middle East and Europe, and the operation also resulted in the killing of other militants.
A spokesman for the US CENTCOM denied that there were any casualties among the US forces or any damage to any helicopter.
Later on the same day, the US CENTCOM stated that the targeted individual is an ISIS Senior Leader, Abd al Hadi Mahmud al Haji Ali, and was killed in the helicopter raid in northern Syria.
This contradiction between the statements of the US CENTCOM and local sources reports indicates a fishy operation. The two killed men were not ISIS, and the third one who was found in a nearby village was not ISIS either, and he was released from SDF’s prison coincidentally with the transfer of the arrested person to the area (both 6 months ago), in addition to the fact that the US CENTCOM did not mention the person who was arrested at all !!
This was not the first US helicopter raid in Syrian territories. The US forces have conducted several vicious operations before in different places with a similar manner. The United States is still carrying out malicious operations in Syria to cover its tracks, perhaps in an attempt to tie up loose ends before evidence of its cooperation with ISIS spread out to the public, especially if the US has to withdraw suddenly from Syria at some point.
