'Air raids will not deter us': Yemen targets US aircraft carriers in response to deadly attacks
At least a dozen people were killed by Washington’s air raids on Yemen overnight, days after a US attack which left over 170 casualties

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced on 21 April several operations targeting sites in Israel and US aircraft carriers in the Red and Arabian Seas, in response to the genocidal war against Palestinians in Gaza and Washington’s deadly attacks against Yemen.
The YAF said its drones “targeted a vital Israeli enemy target in the occupied Ashkelon region with a Yaffa drone,” and a “military target of the Israeli enemy in the Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) region in southern occupied Palestine with a Sammad 1 drone.”
Israel has not acknowledged the attacks.
The Yemeni army also said it targeted “the US aircraft carrier Truman and its affiliated units in the northern Red Sea, using two cruise missiles and two drones,” as well as “the US aircraft carrier Vinson and its warships in the Arabian Sea, using three cruise missiles and four drones.”
“The YAF will continue its support operations deep inside the Zionist entity in occupied Palestine at an escalating pace during the coming period. It will also continue its military operations in the Red and Arabian Seas, targeting all hostile forces. Dozens of American raids will not deter it,” the statement went on to say.
The USS Carl Vinson was recently deployed by Washington to aid the USS Harry S. Truman, which has been targeted numerous times since last month.
The Yemeni operations were announced after a fresh round of deadly US airstrikes against Yemen overnight.
Four airstrikes hit the Sirwah district, east of the capital Sanaa. The US also bombed Harf Sufyan in Amran and the Al-Jawf district, as well as the Sahar district in Saada.
In the capital, Sanaa, several homes were severely damaged by US attacks, Al-Masirah TV reported.
At least 12 were killed and 30 injured, according to a preliminary toll.
The US Navy killed at least 74 Yemenis and injured over 100 more in strikes that targeted the Ras Issa oil port in Hodeidah late on 17 April, one of the deadliest attacks since Washington renewed its war against the country last month.
Hours later, the YAF targeted the Truman and Vinson aircraft carriers in response.
Ansarallah leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi revealed last week that the US has carried out 900 airstrikes against Yemen since resuming its illegal war in mid-March.
