Israel Caused the Hunger Crisis in Gaza, No Matter How Much It Tries to Blame the UN

And this is a careless document whose numbers don’t add up. Even the most lenient analysis of the figures shows that, according to the state itself, starvation must be going on in Gaza. Using basic math, in the last two months, Gazans have received, on average, only one truck for every 34,000 inhabitants per day.

Israel’s allegations are groundless. First, the UN doesn’t have any forces in Gaza; the Israeli army does. The people, humanitarian organizations, and the UN are entirely dependent on the officers’ goodwill. Every humanitarian move – like getting trucks from Kerem Shalom to the Muwasi area that’s home to displaced people, getting medical teams into Gaza, and providing fuel for hospitals – is coordinated with the army.

The permit specifies both the route and the precise time frame, while drivers must also obey orders from an app. They are required to stop at certain points until the army lets them through. Last week, the UN made 16 transit requests to the army. Only one was completed as planned by the UN. Three more requests have been completed, though with significant delays. Some of the rest have been canceled.

For example, the convoy that the GHF spokesman pointed to on July 21 carried emergency medical equipment from the World Health Organization. The convoy was approved the night before. In the morning, trucks arrived and the aid was loaded. According to UN sources, the convoy was ready to go by 9:39 A.M.

But the army delayed its departure until 6 P.M. After the convoy moved out, the army decided to change the route. Before the convoy arrived at the warehouse, the army issued an evacuation order for the area, so the trucks had to head for a different warehouse. This convoy, depicted by Israel and the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation as a demonstration of UN inefficiency, is proof that the army is the main problem.

For most of the war, the UN and other organizations have managed to feed the population of Gaza and prevent starvation, even under the most difficult conditions. Their method, learned in dozens of other conflict areas, is based on hundreds of food distribution centers, careful record keeping, and two levels of distribution – dry food packages for families, as well as public kitchens and bakeries.

On March 2, Israel moved to dismantle this distribution mechanism by blocking all aid and food to Gaza for 78 days. When food stockpiles ran out, Israel reopened the crossings – though very partially, while installing the lethal, dysfunctional mechanism of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation: four distribution centers near areas of firing – centers that hand out small amounts of food to anyone strong enough to come and get it. This created a death trap; hundreds of starving people were shot to death.

Israel has done all this ostensibly to prevent food from getting to Hamas. But two investigative reports published Saturday have exposed what many Gaza watchers already believed – there is no evidence of Hamas taking over large quantities of food delivered by the UN.

According to the report by Reuters, the U.S. State Department looked into 156 cases of lost U.S.-funded supplies sent to Gaza, finding no evidence that Hamas was feasting on the stolen food. According to the report by The New York Times, Israeli military sources said that the UN aid system had functioned efficiently, and that the army had no proof that Hamas had stolen humanitarian aid from the UN.

Anyone looking at the images sent by the army last week from the Kerem Shalom crossing may reach the following conclusion: To control Gaza’s food market, you can’t suffice with small warehouses in underground tunnels; you need a large building. And not one small warehouse captured by the army has been shown to the Israeli public.

Of course, Hamas has been eating food that has entered Gaza. But this is true in every such situation. Hamas gunmen will be the last to starve – long after the children, women, elderly, and Israeli hostages – because in the system created by Israel and the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, only the strong eat. This helps young men with rifles. The victims are everybody else.

Despite the countless warnings by experts in recent months, starvation crossed the threshold last week, with people starting to die from malnutrition. Of 133 deaths by hunger during the war, over 50 died last week. In recent days, images of emaciated Gazan children have appeared on the front pages of major newspapers around the world. This publicity seems to have touched a nerve in the Israeli army, which since July 24 has been trying to ease truck traffic.

The result was almost immediate. In a few hours, 45 flour trucks that arrived in Khan Yunis in the south helped drive down flour prices in the city to around 60 shekels ($18) per kilo from hundreds of shekels. The army was also quick to declare on July 26 that it would cooperate with international organizations to reopen the public kitchens and bakeries.

But the nightmare scenario is that all this may be too late for many children and adults. As one Gaza doctor explained last month, once the body passes a certain stage of starvation, the problem can no longer be resolved by food alone; close medical attention, special food, drugs, and larger medical teams are needed. Meanwhile, it was reported that six more people died of hunger over the past 24 hours.

PALESTINIAN ELDERS’ INVISIBLE DEATHS: Approximately 1,200 elderly Palestinians have died in the past two months due to Israel’s starvation policy, malnutrition, and lack of medical care. Euro-Med Monitor’s field team documented the deaths of dozens of elderly people in displacement camps due to starvation, malnutrition, or lack of treatment. Due to lack of a clear reporting mechanism, many of these deaths were recorded as natural causes.

ISRAEL’S NEW MEASURES NOT MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Israel implemented several new measures Sunday, including daily humanitarian pauses, airdropped aid, and humanitarian corridors for UN aid trucks, in response to international pressure mounted to alleviate the hunger crisis. But humanitarians say that behind the scenes, new bureaucratic obstacles continue to be thrown up that prevent them from importing aid into Gaza (continue reading here).

NOTE: In spite of his concessions to “improve” the humanitarian situation, Israeli PM Netanyahu insists that there is no starvation in Gaza: “Israel is presented as though we are applying a campaign of starvation in Gaza,” Netanyahu said on July 27. “What a bold-faced lie. There is no policy of starvation in Gaza. And there is no starvation in Gaza.” But Netanyahu’s statements do not hold upunder scrutiny. Even President Trump does not believe him.

SEVERE SHORTAGE OF FOOD ENCOURAGES LOOTING: Over the past four days, 269 aid trucks have entered Gaza, and most of them were looted by hungry crowds. Looting aid is not very shocking. It has been a predictable outcome for a prolonged period of a starving population that has been denied access to water, food, and medical supplies. According to the UN, Gaza needs at least 500-600 aid trucks on a daily basis. With regular deliveries of appropriate quantities of food, looting would become unnecessary.

ISRAELI MILITARY FINDS ITSELF NOT GUILTY* OF KILLING AID SEEKERS: The IDF said a preliminary probe found no wrongdoing or IDF-related casualties in a Wednesday incident that local health officials said killed 48 Gazans seeking aid. “The forces fired dispersal shots in the area, not at the gathering, in response to a perceived threat,” the IDF’s statement read. “Initial investigation shows that no casualties were reported as a result of IDF fire; the details of the incident are still being investigated.”

WEST BANK/EAST JERUSALEM, AND ISRAEL NEWS AND HEADLINES:

(For background on the West Bank, read this and thisFor information on the significance of Israeli settlers in the West Bank, read this and this.)

ALLEGED KILLER FACES MILDER CONSEQUENCES THAN ALLEGED STONE-THROWERS*: Following the killing on Tuesday of Palestinian Awdah Hathaleen by an Israeli settler, five Palestinians were detained for allegedly throwing stones at the scene. According to their attorney, they were arrested at the scene after being identified by the same settler, Yinon Levi, who is suspected of killing Hathaleen. The Palestinians’ detention has been extended by eight days, while Levi has been released to house arrest.

ISRAELI SOLDIER SHOOTS STONE-THROWER – NOT A TEXTBOOK CASE: A reserve soldier saw masked suspects throwing stones at vehicles, and fired warning shots into the air. When the suspects began throwing stones at him, he shot at one of the suspects and wounded him. The wounded man was an Israeli settler. The IDF said the incident is under investigation and the soldier has been taken in for questioning.

*NOTE: Palestinians who are caught throwing stones – or suspected of doing so – can face up to a 20-year sentence in the Israeli prison system, or death if Israeli forces shoot at them; Israeli settlers, who also regularly throw stones (as in this incident) regularly face little or no consequencesfor the same act.

ISRAELI ARMY ADMITS TO 500 CEASEFIRE VIOLATIONS IN LEBANON:The Israeli army admitted on Tuesday to carrying out hundreds of violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon, stating it has launched around 500 airstrikes since the truce came into effect in November 2024. According to the Israeli daily Haaretz [Hebrew language], the military described its violence on Lebanon since the ceasefire began as “achievements.” The strikes, carried out over 243 days, reportedly killed more than 230 Hezbollah fighters.

ISRAELI SETTLERS MARCH TO GAZA BORDER, CHANT “GAZA, OURS FOREVER”: Hundreds of Israeli settlers marched to the Gaza border on Wednesday, calling for Jewish settlement in the Palestinian territory, a demonstration that comes amid reports that the Netanyahu government is considering annexation. According to AFP, the demonstrators chanted “Gaza, ours forever” and declared that the “way to defeat Hamas is to take back our land.” Daniella Weiss, leader of the radical settler Nachala movement, said she had 1,000 families ready to move in (more here).

The New York Times Repeated Israeli Claims of Hamas Stealing Aid Without Evidence

In 61 articles related to Gaza’s hunger crisis the New York Times published since January, 23 of them included Israel’s accusations that Hamas was stealing aid. Nine of those stories did not include opposing statements refuting Israel’s claim.

Twelve articles of the 61 analyzed by The Intercept cited concerns about Hamas diverting aid without an explicit accusation. At the time of publication, the Times had not added a correction or update to these stories to indicate that the claims were false.

None of the articles provided any evidence in support of the claims except for the comments of Israeli officials, who work for a government that has repeatedly spread disinformation, including in its record-breaking fatal attacks on journalists, aid workers, and children.

The U.N. agency tasked with distributing aid in Gaza, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, or UNRWA, has maintained for months that it has received no specific evidence that Hamas or other armed groups were diverting its humanitarian aid in Gaza (continue reading here).

Sanders bills to kill Israel arms transfers die in two Senate votes

On Wednesday, the US Senate voted on S.J.Res.34 and S.J.Res.41, voting 24-73 and 27-70 respectively. Both bills were sponsored by Sen. Bernie Sanders.

S.J. Res.34 sought to block the sale of some bombs and some of the logistics and technical support services related to them, and S.J.Res.41 would have prevented the sales of tens of thousands of automatic rifles, to Israel.

Although these resolutions failed, they received more votes to discharge than previous resolutions to block arms sales to Israel. The Senate overwhelmingly rejected two other Sanders-led resolutions to block weapons to Israel back in April, voting against S.J. Res. 33 in a 15-82 vote and against S.J. Res. 26 in a 15-83 vote (continue reading here).

‘Utter disaster’: Critics slam Starmer’s use of Palestinian statehood as bargaining tool

Israel, and especially Netanyahu, have consistently blocked attempts by Palestinians to create a state. The
Habilian Association of Iran is one of that country’s leading chroniclers of the history of Western and Zionist terror against Iran, chiefly but not exclusively documenting the MEK-MKO organization

The MEK-MKO and Madame Rajavi have many partners in crime, including the odious and late John McCain, and the Israeli Mossad.

Habilian Association:

“The world has witnessed blatant acts of aggression by the Israeli regime against Iran and its people. In your view, why does this regime commit such crimes against defenseless civilians in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran? What drives it to continue these aggressions, including targeted assassinations?”

Mark Dankof: In order to understand this, we must grasp two fundamental intellectual and spiritual perversions that undergird Israeli thinking and ideology. One is the racist doctrine of Jewish racial supremacism. The second is the notion of Greater Israel, the belief that the modern Zionist State of Israel has an alleged Biblical claim on geographic territory stretching from the Nile River to the Tigris-Euphrates Rivers. These ideas are in turned linked to two others, the idea of an alleged American Exceptionalism historically merged with Jewish Racial Supremacism and Greater Israel. The second is that Greater Israel goes well beyond the expansion of the Zionist State of Israel geographically. It involves the creation of a World Government, based in Jerusalem and exerting absolute control over all the nations of the earth. This notion of a Jewish-Zionist dominated World Government involves the subversion of culturesand economies of nation-states, false flags, and military coercion and regime change methodologies where necessary. The chief targets of Zionist world domination are Russia, China, and Iran. I believe these three nations can defeat the Zionist beast with the preservation of their sovereign existence as nation-states, and their close collusion against this enemy. The industrial manufacturing supremacy of Russia and China, Russia’s coming military victory over Zelensky and Ukraine, and the preservation of Iran’s government and nuclear capabilities from the recent illegal preemptive military attacks of Israel and the United States illustrate that the Beast has miscalculated its own strength as well as the strength and capabilities of those who resist it.

Habilian Association:   “The Israeli regime claims to be targeting Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, yet it clearly strikes hospitals, infrastructure, and media institutions, with many of the victims being women and children. How can this contradiction be explained? What is the real objective behind these actions?”

Mark Dankof: Their resort to this brand of criminality is an indication of panic. Israel has failed to destroy the movement toward Palestinian statehood and increasing international support for it. Their employment of mass murder in Gaza has only strengthened the resolve to continue resistance regardless of the cost. This is also true in Iran, where the bombing of the IRINN TV studio, decapitation strikes against Iranian military/scientific/political leaders, and the employment of the MEK-MKO and Jaish al-Adl terrorist groups within Iran by the Israeli Mossad and American CIA have only strengthened the national resolve of the Iranian people. Karbala and the Martyrdom of the 3rd Imam empower this national resolve. The Zionist-Anglo-American Empire does not understand this, even as it does not understand the post-Communist renaissance of Russian Orthodox Christian culture which is the foundation of what will be Russia’s resounding victory over the surrogate Jew Zelensky in Ukraine and the beginning of the end of the unipolar world and the past hegemony of the Zionist-Anglo-American entity.

Habilian Association:   “Although the UN and many human rights organizations have documented the war crimes of the Israeli regime, Western governments continue to support it militarily and politically. Why do you think Western countries largely remain silent in the face of these crimes?”

New painting by renowned Iranian artist @roholamin_atelie depicts the emotional farewell between the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS), and his son Ali Akbar (AS) at the Battle of Karbala.
@PressTV

Mark Dankof: The answer is as simple as it is horrifying. These Western governments and their political elites are in a symbiotic relationship with Zionist ideology and the Zionist Jews who are the power within and behind these regimes in the United States, the UK, and the EUIt does not matter how badly the statistics of killing continue their exponential rise, or how many verifiable photos and videos of mass slaughter of innocents are produced and distributed. These governments are absolutely immune to appeals to law, humanity, or the existence of God. This demonic phenomenon explains their own indifference to the fate of their own people while Netanyahu and Zelensky are bankrolled to the tune of billions.

📷 Iranian artist Hassan Roholamin’s artwork depicts the escalating levels of hunger and suffering in the Gaza Strip under Israel’s siege. @PressTV

Habilian Association:  “Western media often portray the Israeli regime as acting in ‘self-defense,’ while ignoring its massacres of civilians in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, as well as its assassination campaigns. How do you interpret this media bias, and what can be done to counter it?”

✡️ Chabad Lubavitch: Meet the Jewish Movement Bridging Zionist Israel and Neo-Nazi Ukraine
Chabad, which boasts of nearly 180 communities across Ukraine, has quietly emerged as a key intermediary between the Zelensky regime and Israel.

Mark DankofZionist Jews control every major media consortium and outlet of consequence in the United States and in the West. The only mechanism for battling this problem is Alternative Media in America and Europe. The problem for the latter is a lack of circulation figures and money, even as the Beast has targeted Alternative Media in the West with bogus “Hate Crimes” laws, the political/professional/economic marginalization of the best journalists in the West, and on occasion even assassination which will become more frequent where these truth-tellers are concerned. This will be yet another indication of Zionist desperation as their public relations campaign continues to collapse even with billions of dollars at their disposal and the existence of their front groups like the ADL, the World Jewish Congress, AIPAC, and the Republican Jewish Coalitionwhich has surged in significance during the Trump Administration’s second term. All of this is in coalescence with the Trump Administration’scommissioning of Zionist Peter Thiel’s Palantir Technologies to keep tabs on American dissidents as a subgrouping in a database including a profile of every living American, even as Palantir provides Israel with targeting information in Gaza. One presumes Peter Thieland Alex Karp of Palantir Technologies provide a different type of support for the Zionist enterprise than the Jeffrey Epstein-Ghislaine Maxwell Sex and Blackmail Ring did for the Mossad and the CIA in the United States and globally, but with equal zeal and effectiveness.

Imam Sajjad, Ali ibn Al-Hussain, also known as ‘Zain Al-Abideen’ : Imam Sajjad, the 4th Imam in Twelver Shia Islam, was known for his extreme piety, his selfless acts of charity, and his devotion to God, earning him the honorary titles ‘Zain Al-Abideen’ (Adornment of the Worshippers) and ‘Sayyed Al-Sajideen’ (Foremost of the Prostrators).

Habilian Association:    “What do you believe is the long-term goal of the Zionist regime’s aggressive and expansionist policies? What threats do these ambitions pose to its neighbors in the Middle East?”

Mark Dankof: As I mentioned earlier, the expansion of the Zionist State to the borders envisioned by the doctrine of Greater Israel and the elimination of regional opponents and competitors in the Middle East, along with the establishment of the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem as the site of a Jewish-Zionist administered reign of World Government.

Daniel McAdams correctly describes Temple Mount Pete Hegseth as an “eschatological crackpot.” But this crackpot is now the Secretary of Defense of the United States under Donald Trump.

Habilian Association:   “What is your personal reaction to the recent attacks by this regime against Iran and the killing of civilians? What message would you like to share?”

The US and Israel are pushing two strategic corridors aimed at controlling Eurasia’s land routes, undermining Iran, and blocking Russia and China. These routes are the Zangezur Corridor and the David Corridor. (Geopolitics Prime)

Mark Dankof: I have a tough and sobering message for my friends in Iran both in government and media. I agree with Mike Whitney of the Unz Review. Iran needs a nuclear weapon for its survival. Perhaps the recent publicity about the Khorramshar-5 attaining ICBM status suggests that this is now understood. I would also urge the Iranian government to have absolutely nothing to do with the IAEA in the wake of the revelations about the betrayal of Iran by Rafael Grossi of the IAEA to Israeli intelligence before Israel launched its illegal preemptive military strikes on Iran, which had as much to do with the decapitation of Iranian military, scientific, and political leaders as with Iranian uranium enrichment guaranteed as an Iranian right under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). I similarly warned the Russians and President Putin in an article entitled “The Chicago Way” 3 years ago to pursue absolute victory over Ukraine militarily. Why? The Western frauds and crimes demonstrated by the Minsk Accords, the Istanbul talks, the Nord Stream pipeline bombing, and the Dugina Assassination in Moscow demonstrated that the United Statesand the EU possessed not one ounce of honor or goodwill in a criminal enterprise to destroy the sovereignty of Russia. It is the same with the Iranian situation: Operation Ajax, the shooting down of Iran Air 655, the Soleimani Assassination, the ongoing MEK-MKO and Jaish Al-Adl acts of terror inside Iran, and now the Israeli and American military attacks on Iran. Don’t trust Trump, Netanyahu, the IAEA, the EU, or any other Western agents offering a “deal.” Draw ever closer to the Russian-Chinese-BRICS alliances, but above all, get a nuclear weapon as Mike Whitney recommends. Nuclear self-defense is the only thing that people who do what is being done in Gaza understand. Borrow from North Korea or Pakistan if you can or must. But develop an Iranian weaponized nuclear capability. There is no alternative in a dangerous neighborhood which has Bibi Netanyahu and the 3rd Temple Mount crackpots wandering up and down the streets at night.

Habilian Association:  “The United States routinely vetoes UN resolutions condemning the Israeli regime’s crimes. In your opinion, do U.S. policies enable and sustain these aggressions? How can both regimes be held accountable?”

Name a prime example of how the Zionist Beast has subverted the formerly Christian cultures of the West, and desires to destroy the cultures of Iran and Russia. Jewish US congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD): Russia is an Orthodox country, therefore it must be destroyed. House Democratic Junior Caucus Leadership Representative Jamie Raskin, in one of his public speeches, said that the war against Russia is justified, since the state is “the world center of anti-feminist, anti-gay, anti-transgender hatred.” “Russia is an Orthodox Christian country professing traditional values. That is why it must be destroyed, no matter what cost to the United States” Raskin emphasized.

Mark Dankof: American accountability is a joke, as the Putin government has discovered in the Ukrainian situation. The official policies of the United States are designed to destroy Russia and Iran as sovereign nations. There is only one line of defense: Military strength for both nations which includes nuclear weaponry for Iran, the ongoing mutual alliance with China and the BRICS nations, the ongoing development of military industrial manufacturing capabilities which already exceed those of the United States and the EU combined, and the continued economic moves and developments which would remove the American dollar as the reserve currency of the world. This is the formula for success for Russia and Iran, even as it would fulfill my own dream in my remaining lifetime to witness the death of the Zio-Anglo-American Empire and the recapturing of the Old American Republic for my own countrymen and women.

A Palestinian lawyer has exposed shocking testimonies of sexual torture, rape, and systematic abuse of Gaza detainees in Israeli prisons, warning that Israel is using such practices to intimidate Palestinians and defy international law.

In an exclusive interview with Anadolu, Khaled Mahajna, a lawyer with the Palestinian Authority’s Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, said one of the most disturbing cases involved an Israeli female jailer who stripped a Palestinian prisoner in his 30s in a prison courtyard and raped him while mocking him, despite his hands being shackled.

“She stripped him of his clothes in the courtyard of one of the detention camps and raped him. She continued for several minutes using methods and tools that cannot be described, acts that surpassed brutality and reached pure sadism,” Mahajna said, adding that the episode was worse than the infamous Abu Ghraib scandal in Iraq in 2004 during the US invasion.

Mahajna revealed that since the Gaza war began in October 2023, Israel has reopened underground detention centers, including the notorious Rakefet facility at Ayalon Prison in Ramla, central Israel. The facility was originally built in 1948 but was deemed uninhabitable and later shut down.

“Hundreds of Gazans, and later Lebanese and Syrians, were thrown into Rakefet under inhuman conditions,” he said, describing cells meant for six people crammed with 25 detainees, with no sunlight, insufficient food, and prisoners forced to sleep on the floor without blankets.

He stressed that lawyers only managed to secure extremely limited visits after months of legal battles.

“Every visit is a battle. Both the lawyer and the prisoner are surrounded by jailers, with the detainees terrified of revealing what happens to them for fear of further torture,” he explained.

According to Mahajna, the abuse is not about extracting information but about collective punishment.

“Even the youngest jailer has a green light from the government to do whatever he wants to Gaza detainees, not to interrogate them but purely to torture and humiliate. This path is particularly focused on sexual abuse,” he said.

He cited testimonies of female prisoners from Gaza describing rape, sexual assault, and coercion, as well as cases of men subjected to sexual torture.

“One elderly prisoner from Gaza was tied, stripped, and assaulted with a stick inserted into his body. They filmed it and shared it among themselves for pride,” he recalled.

Another case involved a young man with cancer who was dragged and forced to drink from a toilet simply because he asked for clean water.

Mahajna said Israeli doctors are complicit in the abuse.

“I heard of a prisoner whose hand was amputated without anesthesia after months of being shackled caused severe decay. Others have died for the same reason.”

Israel’s ‘Message of Terror’

Mahajna argued that Israel’s use of rape and torture sends two messages.

“The first is a challenge to the world – Israel does not care about human rights groups or international courts,” he said.

“The second is intimidation, showing Palestinians that anyone who resists will face unimaginable torture, to break entire generations.”

He noted that the infamous “Unlawful Combatant Law” – passed in 2002 but dormant for years – has been enforced aggressively since October 2023, allowing Israel to detain Gazans, as well as Lebanese and Syrians, indefinitely without charges.

Since the start of the war, he said, Israel has detained over 10,000 Palestinians without trial or charge under its administrative detention policy, including 500 children.

Machinery of torture

Despite systematic obstruction in Israeli courts, Mahajna said his team continues filing complaints and appeals.

“Some detainees have not changed their underwear for months. Even this basic right has been denied. The Israeli courts are part of the machinery of torture,” he said.

He confirmed that Israel fears potential civil lawsuits in international courts, especially from released prisoners who suffered sexual violence and torture.

Mahajna cited the case of five Israeli soldiers charged for sexual abuse of a Gaza prisoner at the notorious Sde Teiman camp in southern Israel, though he warned they were being tried while free and could escape with light punishments.

He concluded with a stark warning: “Every prisoner I meet tells me the same thing: save us from these death camps.”

Israel has killed more than 60,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, in a brutal assault on the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

On Monday, Israeli rights groups B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights-Israel (PHRI) accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, citing the systematic destruction of Palestinian society and the deliberate dismantling of the territory’s healthcare system.

State of the Union: Greene amps up criticism of Israel.

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) joined with Democrats on Tuesday (July 29) to become the first member of the Republican Party to call the crisis in Gaza a “genocide.”

Writing to X on Monday (July 28), Greene first acknowledged the terrorist acts of Hamas on October 7, 2023, before criticizing Israel’s response, which has created a humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“It’s the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct. 7 in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide and starvation happening in Gaza,” Greene said.

Greene, who earlier this month led a failed attempt to strip $500 million of American military funding to Israel, escalated her criticism of the Israeli government in recent weeks after Israel bombed the only Catholic Church in Gaza. The outspoken Georgia congresswoman joins nine Democrats, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American member of Congress, who have also been calling the crisis a genocide.

[Editor’s note: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez voted to continue the $500 million to Israel.]

Fmr. Green Beret Who Worked at Gaza Food Sites Reveals Rampant War Crimes

Reposted by Democracy Now, July 29, 2025

As more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed seeking aid at militarized aid distribution sites run by the U.S.- and Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, a former GHF security contractor tells Democracy Now! he saw U.S. mercenaries and Israeli forces commit war crimes by indiscriminately shooting at starving Palestinians waiting for aid.

“What I witnessed in Gaza, I can only describe as a dystopian, post-apocalyptic wasteland,” says Anthony Aguilar, a retired U.S. soldier who worked as a subcontractor with UG Solutions in the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid delivery operation.

“We, the United States, are complicit. We are involved, hand in hand, in the atrocities and the genocide that is currently undergoing in Gaza.”
