Compilation of news reports – IAK staff
At least 123 bodies were brought to Gaza hospitals in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry.
Among the dead Wednesday were at least 57 aid seekers.
More than 2,700 Palestinian children were diagnosed with acute malnutrition in Gaza amid a crippling Israeli siege on the enclave, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said on Wednesday.
“The crisis has reached unprecedented levels of despair as people continue to go hungry across Gaza,” UNRWA said in a statement.

Hamas has killed 50 Palestinian fighters armed by Israel in Gaza, faction’s associates say
Hamas has killed 50 fighters in recent months from a Palestinian gang armed by Israel in Gaza, according to a statement released amid reports that Israeli troops directly intervened this week to protect the faction.
According to media reports in Israel, clashes between Hamas fighters and members of a militia led by Yasser abu Shabab, known locally for his involvement in criminal activity, erupted early on Tuesday in Rafah.
The Israeli news channel i24 reported that Israeli soldiers had clashed with Hamas members in order to protect Abu Shabab from being killed, which resulted in deaths on both sides (continue reading here).
NOTE: The Netanyahu administration installed the Abu Shebab gang to undermine Hamas and foment division in war torn Gaza. Netanyahu also essentially created Hamas and enabled it to stay in power as a foil to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank. By backing a division between the territories, he managed to sidestep any possibility of a Palestinian state.

American Security Contractor Unloads On US-Israeli ‘Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’
I am one of hundreds of security contractors who have been in Gaza to facilitate aid under the new US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation project.
And it’s all bullshit.
I joined what sounded like a good mission, with good pay – through a company called UG Solutions. We were given little information.
I was told I got the job just days before we were set to depart. It was very last minute.
We were eventually each issued an AR-style rifle, as well as a pistol sidearm. But no one was tested to ensure they had proper training.
We were told we’re operating within international law. But they never delineated what those laws or guidelines were. The only distinct guidance was that if you or those around you feel threatened, you have the authority to defend yourself. But that left a lot of gray areas (continue reading here).

GLOBAL MARCH TO GAZA
The Global March to Gaza will be attended by tens of thousands of activists and health care workers from 54 countries to protest Israel’s ongoing genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
Participants will gather in Egypt’s capital Cairo on June 12 and travel to the Egyptian city of al-Arish, march for three days to the Rafah border crossing, and organize tent protests.
The protesters will also hold a large rally to draw attention to the oppression suffered by all the people of Gaza.
The activists plan to end their action on June 20.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered the army Wednesday to prevent the aid convoy from entering the besieged Gaza Strip.
A statement from his office said Katz instructed the army to block the entry of “jihadist protesters” from entering Gaza from Egypt.
Egypt said Wednesday that all foreign delegations seeking to visit the border area near Gaza, including the city of Arish and the Rafah crossing, must obtain “prior approval” through official channels.

Update on detained Madleen crew members: threatened, beaten
Israeli police have threatened to use violence against French member of the European Parliament (MEP) Rima Hassan if she continues to refuse deportation papers after being taken from the Freedom Flotilla’s Madleen vessel earlier this week, according to Al Jazeera journalist Omar Faiad.
Faiad, who was also part of the group of activists who were detained by the Israeli navy in international waters and later released, says Hassan was threatened by Israeli officers during her imprisonment, with one telling her, “I’ll smash your head against the wall if you don’t sign [the deportation papers]. We’ll handle this our own way.”
Another detainee, Brazilian activist Thiago Avila, has begun a hunger and water strike in protest. According to Adalah, the legal center representing the group, Avila, 36, was beaten during his arrest and denied access to a lawyer for over 24 hours (continue reading here).
In a statement, the rights organization and legal center Adalah said Avila and Hassan were transferred to separate prison facilities, away from the others, and placed in solitary confinement.
A Turkish citizen detained by Israeli forces aboard a Gaza-bound aid vessel is expected to be released and leave Israel on Thursday, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.
Four activists from the Gaza-bound Madleen vessel, including Greta Thunberg, were deported by Israeli authorities on 10 June after signing expulsion papers, while eight others remain imprisoned for refusing to do so.
Reporters Without Borders (RSF) condemned the “arbitrary arrest” of journalist Omar Faiad, released under conditions by Israel, and called for the “immediate and unconditional” release of fellow Madleen flotilla journalist Yanis Mhamdi.

Ben-Gvir Storms Al-Aqsa Hours after UK Sanctions Him for ‘Inciting Violence’
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir reportedly stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in the occupied East Jerusalem on Wednesday morning under the protection of Israeli forces.
The latest intrusion into the Al-Aqsa complex was the eighth by the far-right minister since he joined Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government in 2022.
Ben-Gvir’s action comes a day after being sanctioned by the UK and four other countries for “repeated incitements of violence” against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement on Monday, the UK Foreign Office said Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich “are now sanctioned for their repeated incitement of violence against Palestinian civilians, effective immediately” (continue reading here).

US warns countries not to join French, Saudi UN conference on Palestine: Report
The US is lobbying foreign governments not to attend a UN conference next week sponsored by France and Saudi Arabia on a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, according to a US diplomatic cable reported by Reuters.
The cable, sent to countries on Tuesday, warns them against taking “anti-Israel actions” and says attending the conference would be viewed by Washington as acting against US foreign policy interests.
France, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, is a US ally in Nato. Saudi Arabia is one of the US’s closest Middle East partners (continue reading here).

US legal advocacy organization puts Gaza Humanitarian Foundation on legal notice
The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR)announced on Wednesday it had notified the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) of being potentially legally liable for complicity in Israeli war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide against Palestinians.
In a letter to GHF’s executive chairman, Johnnie Moore, CCR warned GHF that if it did not cease its operations in Gaza, it could face civil litigation or criminal prosecution in different countries and legal action before international bodies (continue reading here).

NOTABLE QUOTES:
Philippe Lazzarini, UNRWA Commissioner-General: “The so called new way of handling assistance in Gaza is most degrading, humiliating and puts lives in danger. This “model” will not address the deepening hunger. The dystopian “Hunger Games” cannot become the new reality. The UN including UNRWA have the knowledge, expertise and community trust to provide dignified and safe assistance. Just let the humanitarians do their jobs.”
